Despite the massive problem of child soldiers, western countries are not doing what they can financially to defend children from guerrilla armies and stopping them from being recruited to child soldiers. Despite it being perceived that the west is donating money to countries in need, the problem continues. Although money is being given to the developing nations, the money is not being monitored to be put for the best use. Instead the money is used to pay off the existing debt that the developing country has. This example shows the cruelness of the poverty cycle, where the IMF takes donated money from these poor nations. Even though, developed nations wish to give money to developing nations, and stop the influx in child soldiers. They can’t stop this vicious cycle where the money is used for all the wrong reasons. This immoral behavior extends further to the point where some of the money even goes back to criminal dictators, in which they fund their lavish and corrupt lifestyles.
