I chose to write about the Newsroom speech because it was unique and really exhilarating. I chose this speech because the intro is perfect, as it grabs the attention of his audience with horrifying statistics about the United States. Despite it being perceived that United States is a leader in many fields, the facts prove otherwise. The intriguing introduction leads perfectly to the conclusion of the speech and he finishes the speech with a concise call to action. The delivery of the speech was also particularly great as he fluctuates in his tone, and varying the speed of the delivery. He speaks fast and aggressive when he is speaking on the poor state of United States. He changes his delivery by slowing down his speech and sends a sincere and thoughtful call to action.

The English Premier League is plagued with a debt of £1.6billion from the top teams of the premier league to the bottom teams of the premier league. This is as a result of ridiculous wages paid to overrated players, and greedy owners that refuse to pay off their debt to the club. In the case of Manchester United their only debt comes from when the owners had to borrow money from the club to buy the club ensuring a financial burden of £300million+. This article gives detailed information on the financial state of each club in the premier league.

This article is very useful as the detailed information on the financial situation of each club is explained and the numbers are accurate. This information is often hard to find as most clubs don’t put their financial situation for show in front of the world. Exceptions include Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. This article led me explore the highest paid players in the league and the toll their sky-high wages make on their clubs’ financial state.

A person with infinite powers is often seen in third world countries as a result of corruption, however, just the thought of that same person running a developed country is preposterous. I have lived in the West for a large majority of my life, and I have grown up with the ideals and practices that are accustomed to western society. Sacrifices were made in order for me to move to Canada and escape the harsh world of the Middle East. The main reason for moving away from the region was to find freedoms in a country abroad, and to think that these freedoms are being lessened is chilling. Especially since the number of countries standing by their promises for freedom are lessening. If the president of the United States is allowed to break the rule of law to spy on its citizens, then where will the new line be drawn on the freedoms of the citizens of the United States? If we give them an inch, they will take a mile.
